cards by me

This site will show my card creations and ongoing projects. I created my site to share with friends and family. It will also be a "test" for feedback on the possibility of starting a small business making cards and personalized calendars. Please scroll down or visit the archives to view photos. October and November cards

Another example of recycling....I saved black and white drawings from a bulb catalog. I colored it in, cut it into rectangles and matted. I love the look!

This one used two of my favs....fussing cutting and drawing. I like to use glitter dust for the frostings. I use a glue stick on the frosting part and then sprinkle on the dust.

Drawn and colored in with gel pens. I get ideas from card catalogs as well and make them into my own.

This isn't the actual card as finished but the drawing before I cut and matted onto the finished card. The finished card photo seems to have been misplaced....hmmmm

Now this is different! This is paint on canvas. Blobs of paint "scattered" with a toothpick. Afer letting dry a few days it was cut into 3 pieces and matted to the card.

Thanksgiving plus

This is a card I made for my dear friend in TN. I didn't add it with the others last month because see would have seen it. I drew the tree and owl friends. Not sure if the big circle behind the tree was supposed to be the tree itself or the moon. I chose to make it the moon. I get a lot of my ideas from my Paper Crafts and Card Maker magazines. I don't use all the tools and embelishments that are called for and use what I have on hand. I love to be able to recycle things and incorporate these items into my cards.

I used some of the Martha Stewart glitters that my sister gave me on the next 2 cards. This one also uses the punch that my daughter gave me. Branch and tree are drawn and colored in before adding the glittery leaves.

This one is cut by hand without any drawing first. I used to do quite a bit of "fussy cutting" but it seems that I have been doing much more drawing the last year. The ones below will show that.

I looked up pictures online and came up with some cute and funny ones as well as the basic harvest type. I draw with pencil and then color in using both colored pencil and gel pens.
