Valentines

This one is a combo bday and Valentine for my dear friend and neighbor Helen.

For my #3 grandson. The wheel turns to show different sentiments. I drew the monster and attached over the brad that holds the wheel on the inside of card.

For my youngest neice. I decided on a pink owl so it would be more girl-like.

For my daughter and #1 & #2 grandsons. This one was fun to do. I usually sit down and draw several parts at the same time before they are made into cards

For my #4 grandson. Love the googly eyes!

For my neice, husband and 3 grand-neices. One of the cards that used the sewing machine.

This is for my Mom. Machine stitching for the border and zigzag on the balloon pieces.

January cards

I have one more to go for this month but it isn't til the 29th. I finished these 3 up last night. They all have bdays on the 14th.

The first one is for my Father-in-law. I started out by drawing, coloring in and cuttng out the car. I then mounted it for more definition.

For my brother Shawn.

This was to be stamped but since I don't have many of those and in my book it is "cheating" for a main design I first drew off the "grid" and then cut the diamonds and attached them. I then used a ruler and pen to add the dashed diamonds

For my sister and Shawn's twin, Michelle.

I used the ruler again to mark the lines and then added the little stars with circles. I then drew and colored in the larger stars and cut them out. Added "jewels" and attached with foam tape. The strip on side was to be stitched but since it is such a hassle to get to the machine I decided to mount it with solid paper instead. H-A-P-P-Y is colored in with pen and cut then attached. After rounding the corners I shaded the edges with colored pencils rather than inking.
