Thanksgiving cards

I made several different styles, some simple and others more complicated or time consuming.

I made these 2 first. They are patterned after a quilting square. Same concept but with paper and glue rather than fabric and thread.

These took a little more time but were easy to make. The leaves are cut from felt and then stitched to the paper and then mounted to make the card.

Turkeys!!! What would Thanksgiving be without a few turkey cards? The turkey feathers and body was cut out 3 times and then layered with different parts cut off for the various colors to stand out.

I have made similar ones in the past but I think the individual leaves turn out good.

I made this design for one of the calendar pages this year. I like the way the leaves are layered...all hand cut pieces.

These are some that I drew and then colored in using pencils and gel pens.

This one turned out better than I thought it might. I used a stencil and strategically placed it on the 4 rectangles to draw the leaves. Then I colored them in with gel pens. The mini buttons were the final touch.

Another one I used as a calendar page. I really love this style! Again hand cut pieces with some attached with foam tape for depth.

Halloween cards

Fun card for my youngest grandsons. I used cord for the worms and 3D stickers for the bugs. The eyeballs really make the card.

Hand drawn and colored in with gel pens and black ink.

Easy witch's hat for my halloween birthday neice.

I like te way the lighting worked out for this shot. looks like the moon is actually shinning!

October birthdays and anniversary

Not a very good picture due to lighting! Anniversary card for my neice and her husband. A combination of 2 different ideas. I finally got to use some of the core'dinations paper I bought a while back.

Purse card that I have made several times. All the little girls love these! I drew off the template several years ago rather than buying the "blank" I have decorated different ways and all have been one-of-kind. This one is for my youngest neice who will be 3 on Halloween.

This cute little sunshine is for one of my Grand-neices who will be (I think) 7 this month. I drew a circle and then used the edge of a oval template for the points before cutting by hand. I know there is a much easier way with one of those fancy machines but I don't have those and I actually get more satisfaction from doing it myself!

Yes, another Neice. She is in Arkansas for College. She will be 22 this month. I really like this one. The idea I was looking at used fabric for the ruffle and flower. I decided to pleat paper and cut the flower from patterened paper as well. The colors worked out great. I just so happened to have the perfect color of ribbon this time!

A Nephew this time! Brother to the above neice...his 23rd birthday is TODAY! He is also away at College in Arkansas. Guys are so much harder to come up with something new each year! Layers of a great collection of manly papers I bought last. I added the tiny button instead of a brad I didn't have.

For my sister, Mother to both of the above "kids". They have a busy birthday month! My sister hits the big 5-0 this year. The flower is gathered twill. This is pretty much like the idea I used with a few of my own touches. I wasn't excited about actually tearing a page from a book for this as I think that destroys good reading. I did get a "sample" one chapter book in the mail though so that came in handy.
