March and April birthdays

A bath mitt made from terry cloth. The face and paw details are made from felt and appliqued on by hand.

This is the card to go with the mitt above. It is for a 1 year old. I made this one (in pinks) a few years ago for my grand-neice on her 1st birthday. Jet has a little red wagon so I thought it would be fitting

I used velumn for the sentiment rather than a solid piece for a see thru effect. This one is for my son.

One of my Grandsons will be 6 this year. I used several layers for effect and drew the wording and candles with gel pens.

This phrase ... which is the definition of wish... was also
done on velumn. I was able to lay it over the picture to get the shape of the verse. I then added printed paper to the backside and "framed" it before attaching it to the card.

Valentines

Here are some of the Valentines I made for this year. I will not be able to post all of them yet as some of the recipents visit this site and would get a "sneak peak"

I love the way these came together! Tear the flowers and leaves from scraps. I picked up the heart "buckles" from the craft drawer at the thrift shop.

These are so cute! I drew the bees on white paper, colored them in and cut out. The lady bug is a black circle and the wings are a circle cut from red and white ribbon. I then cut it in half and added spots punched with a hole punch. The wording is hand printed with gel pens.

I saw these in a catalog that you order premade cards from. I borrowed the general idea and made them my own. These took a little bit of time to cut all the peices but they turned out great! Each square is cut and then attached. I used a paint pen for the white letters and hearts. The letters in LOVE were cut by hand and then matted. I also cut each heart for the side and used the paint pen along the curve. These are for sisters, so I used the same theme and colors.

These are for 2 of my grandsons. Alike but different.
The strip pulls out from behind the matted front.

Another set for sisters. The larger hearts are drawn onto the ribbon with gel pens. It has a heart charm attached where as the other one has a heart "brad".

January and February cards

Well the new year is here and I wanted to make a few Thank You cards....not as many as I should but not enough time. I also started the january and February birthdays. Valentines will be here before we know it!
I used a corner punch that I received as a gift from my daughter. This is for my Mom who made me a "garland" of Snowmen for my Christmas gift.

This card will be for my sister and brother-in-law who sent us great gifts as well. I think the play on words is cute.

One of the February Birthday cards. The "pattern" had a bird on a triangle card but as I started adding the bands at the bottom I decided to extend them and make it into a party hat instead.

I got a great gift from my son....money!!! I was able to get a new pair of shoes, house shoes, a couple pairs of sweats and ....of course....some new paper books!
This card is for a January Birthday and I used the patterend paper as the background. I then cut one of the butterflies including the insides of the wings and mounted it.

Another January Birthday for my father-in-law. again I used the new patterened papers to layer.

This is for my neighbor and friend. Her Birthday is on Valentines Day.
This was in one of my mags as a black and white with "color pop". The sample showed yellow flowers and it was actually a journal front. The "binding" was black. I wanted to bring in red for the color due to the Valentines date. I used ribbon for the color. The black and white strips were cut from various papers and added to white cardstock.

Another February Birthday using the "Safari" cardstock.
I chose this pack for the more masculine colors and prints available.
