cards by me

This site will show my card creations and ongoing projects. I created my site to share with friends and family. It will also be a "test" for feedback on the possibility of starting a small business making cards and personalized calendars. Please scroll down or visit the archives to view photos. Calendars

I am continuing to work on the calendars and have reached a little bit more than the 1/2 way point!!!
March is an easy one.... a recycled card front and May is flowers drawn with gel pens onto velumn and mounted on cordinating papers.

I love the skeleton! I drew and cut the peices then mounted on black before attaching in puzzle fashion.
The pumpkin is like one of the Halloween cards I made.

Another easy page for November using a saved picture from a magazine. May uses a vase from a magazine and flower stickers ....a gift from one of my sister's. I then drew the stems and leaves with gel pen.

Here is another one of those easy pages, but it matched so well with the papers I had. Yes, another card front.
Another owl like one of my Halloween cards.

Easter bunnies on 2 different sizes of calendars.

November bdays

I used some cordinating papers from a new pack I got at Walmart. It also included some punch-outs and stickers.
I made this pattern for my Grandson back in April. I cut the "5" out but used the punch outs here rather than cutting the letters like I did on his. I did mount the top letters and added foam squares to the bottom letters for depth.

Here's the inside. I still have to come up with the sentiment which is the hard part for me!

Here is an example of changing the pattern into your own and using for different occassions. The middle is the one in PaperCrafts magazine. The top is my design for another Grandson's birthday. He will be 13! I cut "crazy, rock and fun" from the paper and attached with foam squares. The bottom one is for my Nephew-in-law who is in Afganistan. I drew the faces with gel pen.

Halloween and more October birthdays

I have made a smaller version of this house in previous years. This time I just cut it freehand by looking at the picture in PaperCrafts. I added the windows "shutters" and door squares for more detail. I also added the "bricks, shingles and wood" with a paint marker.
The ghosts are cut from a saved envelope that reminds me of velum paper. The cat and bats in the house are drawn with pen. The bats outside are cut from paper and the jack-o-lantern is also hand cut.

The borders are cut from a kleenex box that my sister saved for me. The moon she gave me in one of her "I love you" packages. I cut the bat and added the wiggle eyes. Another idea from one of my PaperCrafts magazine with my own touches.

Faux zigzag stitch as it was way too much trouble to uncover the machine! I drew the kitty and colored in with black pen. I had just enough ribbon to fit at the top.

Again all pieces are cut from looking at the picture. All I go by is the finished size of the card. All of these are flat cards, more like postcards. Save on paper and the front says it all....don't need an inside. I drew these letters as well, no stamping here!

My transformation of a treat bag idea on the cover. I punched the eyes with a hole punch and then decided that they needed more expression than just circles so I took th exacto knife to them when I made the mouth. After I wrote the "hello pumpkin" I saw that it needed something to fill in where I didn't space good....so I added the candy corn sticker...another "gift" from my sister.

Now for my SISTER...her birthday is the 25th. This is her card. I made some of these for Mother's day. The flowers pull out to see message written inside. You can look back to the May post to see.

My neice will be 2 on Halloween. I have made these clown cards before and change them to fit the personality of the recipient. I have 3 designs.

This is her gift...a "Square Baby". I made it from a tie dyed t-shirt and felt. Some on the machine and some by hand.
