Easter

My start on Easter cards....I still have a few to go. Then I will need to get the sentiments added to the inside and printing on the outside of some.
This one uses a purchased embellishment...a gift from my sister and peircing....I use a big needle for this.

I drew the flowers on velum with pencil and mounted onto striped paper.

I cut these flowers and stems by hand...no patterns.

More embellisments from my sister. These were simple and turned out nice. It all depends on if you have the right papers and ribbon on hand! More peircing.

These were cut using a pattern. I still need to add something to the "sign". The example was for an invitation.

April Anniversaries

I used the same picture 3 different ways. I found this idea online. They used a stamp. I don't have this stamp so I drew it freehand. The birds on the fence is my favorite. I drew it with pencil and colored in with colored pencil and pens. The green card has the birds drawn on velum and positioned on top of patterened paper.

March and April Birthdays

One of the few times that I use stamps. The branch is one and the owl is another. I colored in to match the paper. I tried a "new" way to attach the ribbon by threading thru a punched hole. The striped background paper is from a gift bag I received for my birthday a few years ago.

I saw this idea and saved it for about a year. I've been wanting to try it out...they are so cute! Stamped my thumb and drew the face, arms and legs.

Another idea I saw online and added my own touches.
The butterfly was cut from a saved birthday card. The colors worked perfect as I had already picked the papers and put together before I found the butterfly.

This card was a gift bag pattern with a circle saying hello that I traded for the balloon. I also changed the leg position as the sample showed them straight up and down.

For my grandson who will be 5 on the 1st of April. The card folds out to the right under the 5. It is held shut with the little gift tag. As usual I hand cut all the letters, etc.

A pop-up card that I have wanted to try. There was no pattern only the picture so I had to experiment.
This is the outside.

Inside of the pop-up. Balloons and gifts. I even added her name on the little gift tag.

Another thumb print card...love it!!
