cards by me

This site will show my card creations and ongoing projects. I created my site to share with friends and family. It will also be a "test" for feedback on the possibility of starting a small business making cards and personalized calendars. Please scroll down or visit the archives to view photos. Snowladies

I made these adorable Snowladies for 3 of my grand-neices. No pattern...I just cut 3 circles using plates as guides. Then I made a running stitch around the edges, gathered, stuffed and anchored. I then attached the balls together and made the faces. The noses are rolled felt wrapped with floss. The eyes are felt and the mouths are made with french knots. I then added buttons, scarves and hats from various scraps. It took me about 5 1/2 hours from start to finish.

Christmas Cards

The Christmas cards are done on the outside and ready to have the sentiments added to the insides.

This is a very simple example....magazine cutout on patterened paper.

Another simple design to use up scraps.

A fun and satisfying way to use old cards....I love the "tiled" effect.

"rub-on" that my sister gave me with layered papers

Another rub-on and a sticker are the beginnings of these two cards. The papers are picked after the embellishment.

Poinsettias....I have made these in the past and I like the effect. The petals are torn, scored and edges chalked.

Another recycled card matted on cardstack.

These were the first 3 I made this year. I got the idea from a catalog. The letters, doves and olive branches are cut by hand without pattern.

Recycled card front and another sticker.

Another fun card to make....Button trees...I made one of these for one of the calendar pages.

3-D snowmen....I saw these in my Paper Crafts magazine a few years ago and have had it marked as a favorite. They used pre-cut snowmen....I cut my own...cut out 2 snowmen and glue together on one side. The hat bands are ribbon and the scarves are patterend paper.
