cards by me

This site will show my card creations and ongoing projects. I created my site to share with friends and family. It will also be a "test" for feedback on the possibility of starting a small business making cards and personalized calendars. Please scroll down or visit the archives to view photos. Bob and Mary's Anniversary Card

This is the other Anniversary card that I left out for September. They have now received it and I can post it here.
Mary grows roses in her yard and I thought that they looked nice with the paper colors.

Anniversary and Wedding

One of my neices and her husband will celebrate 9 years on the 9th. They like to go to the beach and I thought that this card was them. Another example of using a magazine photo and making something beautiful!

My husbands "step-nephew" is getting married on the 19th. This is the card I made for them. I used shades of teal rather than white since it is not to be a "traditional" ceremony and it is also his second marriage. The invitation had hearts on it so I carried it to the top of the cake rather than the bride and groom.

October Birthdays

My youngest neice will be 1 on Halloween. She has lady bug theme on all her bedroom furnishings and a lot of her clothes. Her Mom got me to make her a grocery cart cover with lady bugs on it and I designed this card from the fabric.

One of my grand-neices will be 5 on the 11th. The cupcake design is new with added sparkle to the frosting. I added the candles from a magazine picture.

My nephew will be 21 on the 2nd. He is studying to be a coach.

My neice will be 20 on the 19th. I have been waiting for the oppurtunity to use this paper...I love the pattern and colors. I "traced" the tulips on velum from an embroidery pattern.

One of my sisters, the mother of the 2 above, will be celebrating her birthday on the 25th. This is another colorblocking example. She gave me a flower press for my birthday this year so I used it for her card . The flower in the center was plucked from my bed and pressed.

This is her gift. I made a fabric cover for a blank journal and a bookmark with more pressed flowers.

Halloween

I used this design for a couple of the calendars and thought it would also do good for cards. All the peices are cut by hand....no patterns.

This pattern used paper that had the diamonds printed on it. I didn't have any so I cut the diamonds and made my own. I also added the "wiggly eyes".

This one is for Aidan. I added the bolts to this pattern....the example had a broken arrow??!!

These are for Tristen and Sebastian. Sebastian's is supposed to resemble one of those "ugly dolls". I also hand cut these and thought that the jack-o-lantern turned out well.

Caleb's cauldron....this was fun to make....again no pattern just a picture to model it by. The bats are on wire...."flying" out of the pot.

Another one that I used on the calendars.

more calendar pages

A variety of both quick and easy pages along with some more time consuming ones. The cat and spider for Halloween/ October page have been a favorite that I have used for cards before. The body moves so that the eyes change. I made several different styles of Christmas trees for December and they were one of the easier ones but they look nice. Sometimes simple is better.

Spider

National Bird Day

Pig Day

Ice Cream Soda Day

Watermelon Day

A simple tree design

Hug a Bear Day

Halloween squares

A cute little duckie for April

I used a smaller version of this for Christmas cards last year.

Another tree style

Aquarium Month. I traced this on Velum and then colored in.

A Button Tree...I like this "art deco" style

Black cat

Another halloween page

Fireworks for July

September Anniversary and Birthday

I made two anniversary cards for September but will post only one for now. I will post the other one after it has been sent to it's recipients.
One of my grandsons has a birthday on the 13th. He will be 2 and has an infatuation with puppies. He "claimed" a dalmatian puppy stuffed animal from my house and was allowed to take it home with him a few weeks ago. He is going to have a puppy theme party and I am going to make him a puppy cake.

This is the dalmation card I made for my grandson.

This is the anniversary card for my neice and her husband who will be celebrating 8 years on the 16th.
