May Birthday Cards

This one is for my brother. He will be 52 this year. His birthday is on "the real" Memorial Day, May 30th. I find it hard to come up with ideas for male recipents, I think this one turned out well for that purpose.

This one is for our neighbor, his "big day" is on the 26th. He lives with his sister after being wheelchair bound from a fall in the grocery store about 5 years ago. He is also deaf and we communicate through various hand signals, etc. He likes wildlife and "funny stuff" so I thought this card was for him.

The slice of cake is for my Step-Mom who celebrates on the 18th. I thought this was a cute card idea. The cake opens under the candle to view the sentiment inside.

Another "color-block" card like the one from last month. A little bit different design and different colors. This one is for a Grand-Neice who will be 8 on the 13th.

This is for my "Sweet Pea"....my daughter.... who will celebrate #34 on the 8th. The cupcake is drawn freehand and colored in with pencils. The "pattern" was for a stamped cupcake....I don't have stamps or for that matter a lot of "extras" that alot of the patterns or ideas call for. I usually take the idea and improvise by either drawing or cutting freehand. I then added "sparkle dust" to the top rather than "jewels" as in the pattern....I think the sparkles look better.

Baby Boy

My cousin is expecting next month and the shower is this Sunday. I was only notified of the shower last Wednesday! I got this "recipe" from the march issue of PaperCrafts magazine. I think it turned out well and I will add it to my baby gift file. The rattle top is raised making a "shaker box" for the buttons to rattle.

This is the standard baby announcement card that I always give. It is a tri-fold card.
