cards by me

This site will show my card creations and ongoing projects. I created my site to share with friends and family. It will also be a "test" for feedback on the possibility of starting a small business making cards and personalized calendars. Please scroll down or visit the archives to view photos. Calendars have begun

I am making a couple of improvements this year.
I decided to print the calendar pages on the back sides of the printed paper that will have the picture, etc. This saves paper and glue! I also have a much better way of joining the pages together. I was thinking about this last year but was unable to find what I was looking for. I was determined to hunt until I had what I wanted this year. Finally after looking at several sites I came across these "crafter's rings" at JoAnn Crafts. I have 9 this year so far and may add a couple of smaller ones.
The pages have all been cut, printed, sorted and "bound" together. They all have thier "owners" name on the front and various birthday and anniversaries marked. I have added pictures from my flower/plant collection, some I have cut and saved from magazines, etc. and other "stuff" to some pages in all of them. I will be working on them off and on up to around Thanksgiving when I will need to be working on Christmas cards.

Baby announcement

This is the announcement card I made for our 4th grandson due Sept 20. I have made several of these for friends and relatives with different color schemes depending on gender and personality of parents.

Inside with left flap (front) opened. This is where I add sentiment.

Inside with both flaps open. This is the part that the parents fill in with birth information.
I also make a clear envelope to keep them safe for many years in the baby book, or whatever.

Mom's birthday card and gift

Mom's birthday is July 5th. I remember when we all used to get together (back when we were kids) to have a picnic and watch the fireworks on the fourth AND celebrate her birthday. She moved to Missouri last September and we had a big family party for her last year.
This is a fun and more detailed, time consuming card. I really like the way it turned out.

inside with sentiment

I covered a cocoa tin for note paper holder, made a couple of bookmarks and some refrigarator magnets using cordinating papers.

When you remove the 3 magnets you have a magnet photo frame as well.
