Mother's Day cards
Mother's Day is right around the corner!!! I wanted to make something both different and special! I came up with 3 possibilities and made multiples. I made 11 cards in all for friends and family.

I have been looking at this design for a while and while searching for pattern and directions I came across a few varieties. This pattern worked the best for me and after getting it down I really loved them!
I used a picture from a magazine ad for the flowers.
Another style with 5 squares rather than 4. The basic design was a little different and I was not happy with the way the panels flipped so I took it apart and used the base from the style above. These flowers are recycled from a thankyou notecard.

This style is sideways. I used flowers from a tissue box cover that my sister saved for me.
This design turned out great! All I had to go by was a picture I saw online. So first I sketched out the pattern and with trial and error got the flowers positioned so that they overlap the top of the pot. I made 4 of these in different colors.

I made the yellow one (below) first with a total of 5 layers. Then I started this one. When I put the patterened paper behind the base I thought it was too pretty to cut so I left it as is.
