2009 Calendars

I have been working on this years calendars since June. I usually get the papers selected, cut and bound first. I then add the printed months to each. I have 6 regular wall size and 8 smaller ones this year. Here is a preview of some of the pages I have done so far.

This is one of the smaller calendars and I repeated this design on 4 of them with different colors.

These are faux ribbons cut from paper. They sentiment is about friends and is on the February page for "Friendship Month"

This is on my brother's calendar. I matted different cartoons from Reader's Digest for all of his pages as he is always cracking jokes.

One of the front covers. All are simple but different. This is my Dad's. He gets a smaller one as his house is in a motorhome.

This is a page using a picture cut from a magazine. I usually alternate "easy" and more "time consuming" pages within each calendar. This one has 2 hanging holes by accident and will be covered before completed.

Another February page combining friendship and chocolate for Valentines Day. I made the faux chocolate bar from paper and added foil for the inner wrapper.

Happy Birthday....I made 3 of this design with slight variations. All the peices are cut by hand. I saw an ad with something similar and decided to copy the idea.

Another february page for LOVE.

One of my Dad's pages. I used photos that I took of wildlife and flowers in my yard. each month has a different color cordinated photo.

This vase of flowers fit perfectly on my sister's calendar as hers is in the potrait format rather than the landscape as the others are. The vase is made from velum and looks like frosted glass.

My name is carl dinsmore and I stumbled upon your site on accident, but what a beautiful site it is!! You should be very proud of yourself. So creative you are. I love to write poetry because it is very peaceful for me to write. Here is one, I hope you dont mind..
The Weight Of The Spoken Word

Words carry weight
spoken and written
We have all used them as weapons
Intentions to cause as much injury as possible
Oddly enough, the targeted gives them all the power
Misconceptions that they made you feel
Truth knows only you can allow yourself to feel
Some words everyone should feel
Those spoken in regards to the human condition
These are the words that should penetrate the soul
When it matters, people are able to turn a deaf ear
Gossip is met with attention and focus
Gospel is met with blank stares and turned heads
Ideas, thoughts and opinions come from words
Words are neither good or bad
It is the meaning and context that comes the power
